Hurricane Harvey Artistic Display

Who knew that the sands and conglomerates deposited by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 would end up at the GeoGulf Conference as part of an artistic display created by geologist Jerry Kendall. Check out the plastic sand empregnated panels on display during the Exhibit Hall exposition showing cross beds and laminated deposits all lain down during the catastrophic Harvey flooding near downtown.

You can see these incredible sand art displays on the GeoGulf Exhibit floor Oct 23-25 at the Westchase Marriott. Guided information on the depositional processes and creation of the sand displays will be posted along side the exhibits.
